The role:

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer who thrives to make a difference! In this role you will be you will be customer focussed, results driven and should be able to work collaboratively with our people, customers and partners. You will cultivate innovation within your team and partners and will demonstrate and encourage life-long learning.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your capabilities and skills so that they can be utilised more broadly within Technology and IAG.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enable teams to activate end to end digital experiences for customers, colleagues and partners, that are more secure, robust and scalable than ever before, and deliver them with lightning speed

• Bring thought leadership in your field of expertise to support the planning and execution of Technology’s strategic priorities, contemporary operating model and business plan

• Contribute to both Technology and IAG performance with insights, collaborative input and expertise that promotes value creation, innovation, managed risk, and improved performance

• Liaise with business system owners directly (where required) to refine requirements and provide guidance

• Pro-actively identify and recommend application improvements as part of the development or support activities and provide advice in situations where subtle changes to requirements yield savings in software development cost or application efficiency/performance

• Identify, understand, analyse and communicate the customer & business process of the overall solution;

  
  

We would love to hear from people who have:

• Demonstrated knowledge in design and development techniques with strong Python knowledge

• Proven ability to implement generic, re-usable solutions, components or frameworks, including appropriate documentation and training

• Strong understanding of structured programming principles (e.g., object-oriented) as applied to software development

• Good proficiency with verbal, written presentation, facilitation and communication skills in English.

• A comfortable nature in working with both business and technical people

• A desire to maintain their technical skills. A commitment to ongoing personal development
